Moving all around

After graduating college on July 23rd, I traveled to Washington for my sisters wedding.  It was a fun week, with Saturday being a hard day to get through, it was my sisters sealing and reception and my dad decided to have a minor heart attack just as we got to the temple.  He was out for the whole day, the thing was we didn't know that's what it was until later that day, after pictures had been taken and my mom had taken him back to the hotel, we really just though he had fallen into a very deep sleep, for the whole sealing.  It was so scary and we didn't know what to do, but he made it through and finally woke up towards the end of her reception and finally got to see his daughter in her wedding dress.  It was a hard day with two very happy endings.  My sister is now married and my dad was able to wake up for part of that day.   Talk about mixed emotions at a wedding.
* I will tell you something funny that happened that day, that made me laugh even if I wanted to cry.  My sisters husband's ex-roommate was there helping with whatever he could help with.  I thought it was so sweet and he really is a nice guy, and of course one of the few guys actually my age there, so my aunt and grandma and my great aunt kept pushing me on him, telling me I should go after him.  I've known him for 2 semesters I told them and if something was going to happen I would think it would have already happened by now.  They just weren't having it, I guess we were flirting back in forth the whole evening (I didn't even know I knew how to flirt, it was news to me).  Then later that as the festivities continued I had no less than 5 people as if he and I were dating, mainly because they knew him but didn't know that he knew Jake and Tabs, they thought he was there helping me out because we were dating.  I had to let them know that we were not dating, I think some were a bit disappointed, oh well, such is life.*
The next day my family (minus my sister of course) traveled up to Alaska.  This would be the first time I get to see where my parents are now living, and there condo is super cute.  If I could afford it I would live there as well, it's got a great view of the water and mountains as well.  Alaska is just the best place ever, I hope I go back again after student teaching.  Most of the time I just watched movies, read, played Wii with my brother or slept.  My mom thought I was bored and that I should get out and do something, what she didn't understand is that I have been going since last April, no stop with school and work and everything.  I wanted and needed this much needed break from life and reality, it was nice to get away from it all.  Though my grandma and aunt were really pushing me to got to the singles ward up there, they really wanted me to fall madly in love with an Alaskan boy so I would move back up after student teaching and I kept telling them that "I'm only here for one Sunday, it won't happen that quickly."  But hey they can hope and wish for me.  I wouldn't be surprised if the next time I came up they had a date set up for me every night.  You've got to love it!!
After two weeks in Alaska and 12 hours of traveling on Sunday I finally made it to my new home.
HELLO!! Murray, Utah.
Next week begins my life as a student teacher, which I'm sure will be filled with heartache, sadness, laughter and hopefully a happy ending.  We shall see!

locked in my room

So last night some how I got locked inside of my bedroom.  It's 2 am in the morning and I really have to go to the bathroom and no matter how many times I turn my door knob it doesn't budge.  I am stressing out and I have no idea what to do. UGH!!
Lucky for me, my parents believe in making sure we are prepared for everything so I had a tool kit in my closet. Out came that kit and it sure did get used.  I ended up taking off the door knob, that didn't help so I spent another 15 min, trying to get it back on without sending the other half out into the hallway, where it would have been of no help to me at all.  (Let's just say I'm glad none of my roommates were up to hear or see me in this predicament)
After putting the door knob back on I thought that maybe I could take the hinge bolts out and just pull the door off.  The first bolt came out pretty easily, the second and third were not coming out easily, they wanted me to struggle a bit...mind you this whole time I still have to use the bathroom so I'm sitting there holding it.  I finally gets all the bolts out and then you'll never guess what happens.
That's right the door is stuck I can't pull it out.  Man I hate my bedroom door!!
So 20 min. later I finally get enough strength built up and I push up and then pull out and it finally comes out of it's proper place and allows me to use my bathroom.  FINALLY!!!  SO that was a fun 45 min. of my life!
I decided to leave the door as it was and just leaned it against door frame so that the next time I had to use the restroom it wouldn't be so hard and it wouldn't take as long.

"Muscle Man"

Leave it to Wal-mart to make me laugh.
So I'm shopping for some groceries with my sister and future brother-in-law, and we were over by the groceries (obviously) and I saw this little older man who was maybe late sixties, early seventies.  In the very top of his cart was the magazine Muscle and Fitness and on the cover of this magazine with this extremely ripped man, and I look at this short, chubby, old man with this muscle and fitness magazine in his cart.  and all I could think about was Bless his little old heart.  At least he has high hopes!!

HA HA

OK so I actually had something make me laugh out loud today on my walk home.  I was walking past the post office as a van belonging to BYU-Idaho was pulling out.  In the van were two pretty good looking boys driving, the driver was doing some funny dance moves and singing along with the radio.  As I pass in front of them and by them I can finally hear what song this guy is rocking out to.  No other than Miley Cyrus "Party in the USA"  That's right this guy was dancing and singing along with 'Party in the USA'  I laughed the rest of the way home.  Hope it made you laugh as well.

My crazy friends

So I have some of the craziest friends, who are always trying to get me further and further out of my bubble, which is good but man sometimes I wish they would leave me in my bubble. On Sunday my sister and her fiance came over to made lasagna and then pretty much my whole apartment sat down to play a round of 5 crowns.  Well as we found having about 9 people play the game is really boring and someone will always go out on the first round, so annoying.  Anyways after we were done messing around with 5 crown, my two little youngin' friends who live below me came up stairs and decided that they were going to call the guy that I had a crush on last semester and we were going to talk to him on speaker phone.  Lucky for me right as they were calling him another friend stopped by so I had to go talk to her and help her out with a small issue, another funny story but not mine to tell. :)
When my other friend left I was ordered back to my room so I could talk to my crush.  As soon as the phone was in my hand those two girls left the room, but then you could see their heads peeking around my door...not so sneaky.  I had fun talking to him and I enjoyed making fun of those two girls because earlier in the day they had come over and takin over my bed, while I was still on it.  Well I had to get up because my other roommates were asleep on our couches but they were late for a meeting, so I to get them up so they could get to their meeting.  I came and laid back down for a bit then decided to do some stuff on my computer and write in my journal, during that process those two girls in turn both feel a sleep on my bed.  It was so cute!  I had to leave them there just because I didn't want to wake them up, I took a picture (I will try and post it).  I told this to my crush and he laughed.  I thought it was funny too, those girls are great and I can't help but love them. :)

Funny Story - Murphy's Law

Green garden grass snakes can be dangerous, Yes, grass snakes, not rattlesnakes.  A couple in Sweetwater, Texas had a lot of plotted plants, and during a recent cold spell, the wife was bringing a lot of them indoors to protect them from a possible freeze.  It turned out that a little green garden grass snake was hidden in one of the plants and when it had warmed up, it slithered out and the wife saw it go under the sofa.  She let out a very loud scream.  The husband who was taking a shower ran out into the living room naked to see what the problem was.  She told him there was a snake under the sofa.  He got down on the floor on his hands and knees to look for it.
About that time the family dog came and cold-nosed him in the butt.  He though the snake had bitten him, so he fainted.  His wife though he had a heart attack, so she called an ambulance.  The attendants rushed in and loaded him on the stretcher and started carrying him out.  About that time the snake came out from under the sofa and the Emergency Medical Technician saw it and dropped his end of the stretcher.  That's when the man broke his leg and why he is in the hospital
The wife still had the problem of the snake in the house, so she called on a neighbor man.  He volunteered to capture the snake.  He armed himself with a rolled-up newspaper and began poking under the couch.  Soon he decided it was gone and told the woman, who sat down on the sofa in relief.  But in relaxing, her hand dangled in between the cushions, where she felt the snake wriggling around.  She screamed and fainted, the snake rushed back under the sofa, and the neighbor man seeing her laying there passed out tried to use CPR to revive her.  The neighbor's wife, who had just returned from shopping sees her husband's mouth on the woman's mouth and slammed her husband in the back of the head with a bag of canned goods, knocking him out and cutting his scalp to a point where it needed stitches.  An ambulance was called and it was determined that he required hospitalization.
The noise woke the woman from her dead faint and she saw her neighbor lying on the floor with his wife bending over him, so she assumed he had been bitten by the snake.  She went to the kitchen, brought back a small bottle of whiskey, and began pouring it down the man's throat.  By now the police had arrived.  They saw the unconscious man,. smelled the whiskey, and assumed that a drunken fight had occurred.  They were about to arrest them all, when the two women tried to explain how it all happened over a little green snake.  They called an ambulance, which took away the neighbor and his sobbing wife.
Just then the little snake crawled out from under the couch.  One of the policemen drew his gun and fired at it.  He missed the snake and hit the leg of the end table that was on one side of the sofa.  The table fell over and the lamp on it shattered and as the bulb broke, it started a fire in the drapes.  the other policeman tired to beat out the flames and fell through the window into the yard on top of the family dog, who startled, jumped up and raced out into the street, where an oncoming car swerved to miss it and hit a tree.  Meanwhile the burning drapes had spread to the walls and the entire house was blazing.  Neighbors had called the fire department an the arriving fire truck had started raising his ladder as they were halfway down the street.  The rising ladder tore out the overhead wires and put out the electricity and disconnected the telephones in a ten-square city block area.
Time passed- both men were discharged from the hospital, the house was rebuilt, and all was right with the world.  About a year later they were watching TV and the weatherman announced a cold snap for the night. The husband asked his wife if she thought they should bring in their plants for the night.  She slapped him!

Give a mouse a cookie

So this story isn't about me it's about my friend Jesse.  He is off track next semester so the room he was staying in was going to be vacant and i guess another guy started moving his stuff into the room before Jesse even left, which was ok, but annoying for Jesse.  So to waste his time away from his apartment, he came over to my apartment to say goodbyes and to hang out for a bit.  We ended up playing phase 10 for like an hour with my roommate Kelly and her boyfriend Jonathan, it was a lot of fun. While we were playing i got the hiccups, which if you know me well, i get them all of the time.  It's kind of annoying but funny at the same time because their just little hiccups but annoying.  Well whenever I hiccup Jesse laughs and he has a great laugh but he doesn't laugh often enough so I'm glad when he does finally laugh.  That was the best part of the evening.
That is until he had finally left to go home to get some sleep and he text me because this guy was still moving in and he had a ton of stuff, and the guy had the audacity to eat Jesse's cookie.  How lame is that?  Poor Jesse, losing his room and just lost his cookie.  So I made M & M cookies for him and myself, I love me some M & M cookies =D   So he stopped by Saturday morning to drop off a Tupperware container they had borrowed and to see goodbye again...oh yeah and to pick up his cookies.
